How To Set Up Your Pack Structure
Before you structure your data, it is important to think about the ideal set up. Generally the structure should mirror the desired submission output.
What are Sections / Subsections?
Sections: Higher-level categories, often related to locations or classes of business.
Subsections: More detailed, providing greater flexibility for organising your data.
Here is an example of what a structure may look like:
Structure Set-Up
There are two ways to set up your structure.
1. Via the Structure Tab
This method allows you to set up sections and subsections ahead of the first data upload.
1.1 Creating a Section
Go to the required pack and click Structure.
Click Add Section at the top right.
Give the section a name and choose the ACORD Line of Business from the drop down. ACORD provides a standardised list of class of business. Select the one that best matches your criteria.
The Section Number sorts your sections into ascending order.
Click Add.
Sections are highlighted in black, Subsections are highlighted in grey.
1.2 Editing a Section
To edit a section, click on the pencil button in the right corner of the section widget.
You can change the Line of Business Name, Closest matching ACORD Line of Business or Section Number.
To complete, click Save.
1.3. Deleting a Section
To Delete a Section click on bin icon on the right corner of the section widget and confirm your action.
Click Confirm.
1.4 Creating a Subsection
Within a section, click Add Subsection.
Give the Subsection a Name and enter a Reference.
Click Add.
Change the subsection name:
Or move the subsection to a different section:
Click Save to proceed.
1.6 Deleting a Subsection
Go to the ellipsis next to the subsection name and click Delete.
2. Via the Import Wizard
You can set up your structure in line with the first data upload. See here for guidance on the Supercede data upload.
2.1 Sections
Sections cannot be mapped via the import wizard. If no structure has been added via the Structure tab ahead of using the import wizard, the sections will display as All Subsections.
The Subsection name can be updated using the structure tab.
2.2 Subsections
Subsections are created via the mapping tool. Drag and drop or select 'Subsection Reference' to the column that you want to use to generate your subsections.
The platform will generate all relevant subsections for your pack based on the number of unique references from this selection.
